What you see on this site right now is the first step of the build. Libraries and books you create are kept in your own browser’s storage and go nowhere else. There is no server holding them, because it has not been built yet.
The example books shown on the home page are labelled example. They are not yours and they are not anyone’s — they are there so the page shows what the product is for.
When storage does exist, the library a book sits in decides how it is handled. This is the central privacy idea of Sovasta Read, so it is stated plainly:
If we cannot read something, we cannot process it either. A book in My Treasure cannot have an audio overview or a summary generated in the ordinary way, because generating those requires reading the text.
You will be offered three choices for each private book, and the default is the most private one:
Products that say “end-to-end encrypted” while quietly reading your content are common. We would rather describe the limit than enjoy the phrase.
Turning sources into books is expected to involve an outside generation service. We have not yet confirmed which one, or that its terms permit this use. Until that is settled and written here, assume nothing of yours is sent to any third party — because today nothing is.
Your language choice and your locally created books stay in your browser’s storage.
Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes everything Sovasta Read currently holds. To remove your Sovasta account and the identity attached to it, use hub.sovetrust.com.
Markdown export is included on every plan, including the free one. Being able to take your library with you is part of the design, not a paid feature.
